Memorial Herman Ironman 70.3 Texas

Today was the unofficial start to the TNT Memorial Herman Ironman 70.3 training season. We had a short practice this morning (1 mile timed run) followed by a shoe clinic at Finish Strong Sports. So far it looks like we have 25 people and hopefully a few more. I am very excited with my new group and I know we will have a great season. We will have one more unofficial practice and a few clinics before we get started with the tough work at the end of September. In the meantime I will put my coaching duties aside and will train with Memorial marathon group to get ready for the Goofy Challenge in January.

I also signed up for the Clearlake International Triathlon this week. I went ahead and signed up for the Olympic distance because my training is going well. So, I will race twice in the month of August. Beyond that I have a few races in mind but nothing concrete at this point. I hope to have some definite answers over the next few weeks. For now I am planning to focus on my training.

Bye for now!

I signed up for Clear Lake as well. This will be my first tri since IM Coz. I hope I remember how to do it all.

Not sure how I came across your blog, but as IM Coz nears this year I find myself googling "IM Coz race reports" cause I'm getting pumped! :) Your report was great, especially the part about how disgusting people can be in the change tents and port johns - tell me about it. I once saw this chick yank down her entire one piece race suit and shoot diarrhea all over the run course right in front of me!! I was so shocked and disgusted I didn't even say anything..and I'm usually not the keep quiet type. Anyway, thanks for the report. I'm getting super stoked to do Cozumel in November - I love that island! :)
